Ex-Malden Firefighter Sentenced In Federal Drug Dealing Case
Joshua Eisnor, of North Reading, pleaded guilty in June after prosecutors said he sold drugs to other firefighters while on duty.
MALDEN, MA — A former Malden firefighter will face probation and pay a fine, prosecutors announced this week, roughly five months after he pleaded guilty to a drug distribution charge.
Joshua Eisnor, 43, of North Reading faced a charge of conspiring to distribute controlled substances after prosecutors said he sold drugs to other members of the Malden Fire Department while he was himself on duty as a Malden firefighter.
Eisnor, prosecutors said, distributed drugs including oxycodone, suboxone, Klonopin and Adderall.

He pleaded guilty in late June. He was then sentenced in federal court on Monday to five years of probation. He will also have to pay a $2,000 fine and forfeit $900, according to a statement Tuesday from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts.
Eisnor could have faced up to 20 years in prison, five years of supervised release and a fine of up to a $500,000, according to a prior statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office in June.

“As a firefighter, Mr. Eisnor was responsible for protecting the Malden community,” U.S. Attorney Rachael Rollins said this week. “Instead, he dishonored his noble profession and sold drugs while on duty.”
Joseph Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge for the FBI’s Boston Division, said Eisnor put both fellow firefighters and Malden citizens in potential danger with his actions.
“This case illustrates the FBI’s commitment to bringing to justice those who deliberately compromise the integrity of their position for their addictions,” Bonavolonta said.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office on Tuesday said a series of agencies including the FBI, the Merrimack Valley Transnational Organized Crime Task Force and others were involved in this case.
