Kevin Molis will serve on Campbell's Criminal Bureau Team during her transition.
MALDEN, MA — Former Malden Police Chief Kevin Molis will lend his experience to Attorney General-elect Andrea Campbell over the coming weeks as part of her transition team, Campbell announced on Monday.
Molis was one of dozens of individuals named to the larger transition operation. He will join 12 others on Campbell’s Criminal Bureau Team, helping prepare the Campbell administration to take over aspects of attorney general duties related to criminal matters.
Other bureau teams will focus on matters including health care, energy and the environment, and government.

“We have brought together a diverse group of lawyers, youth, subject matter experts, and business, non-profit and community leaders to review the work of the office while identifying the north stars for every bureau,” Campbell said in a statement this week.
“Together, we will ensure that the best public law firm in the country continues to truly represent the people,” she continued.

Molis spent more than four decades with the Malden Police Department prior to his retirement earlier this year.
Though retired from the police, Molis previously signed on in October to serve as an advisor to EvaClean, a disinfection and infection prevention company.
Campbell, a Democrat, won the race to replace outgoing attorney general and current Governor-Elect Maura Healey back in November by defeating Republican James McMahon. Campbell will begin her term on Jan. 18.
