Former Malden Residents Fulfill Bat Mitzvah Dreams At 71, 72

Adele Stacy and Paula Weiner, residents of Revere's Jack Satter House, recently participated in a socially distant B'not Mitzvah ceremony.

MALDEN, MA β€” Twelve women ages 71-100, including two former Malden residents, recently pursued their Bat Mitzvah dreams. Adele Stacy, 71, and Paula Weiner, 72, residents of the Jack Satter House in Revere, participated in a Bat Mitzvah class at the senior living community.

The class started in December 2019 and was conducted over the phone once the coronavirus pandemic hit. In August, Stacy, Weiner and 10 other women fulfilled their dreams through a socially distant B'not Mitzvah ceremony.

The class was led by Rabbi Lior Nevo and included studies of a portion of the Mishna – a book of Jewish law – that addresses the theme, "if not now, when?" The facility said a theme of the class and subsequent ceremony was accomplishing your dreams regardless of age.
