• Malden House Fire Displaces Family (patch.com) — A weekend house fire on Bishop Road has displaced a Malden family, though everyone and their pets escaped safely thanks to quick action from firefighters and a neighbor. City Council President Stephen Winslow praised the response and urged residents to check smoke detectors, avoid overloaded outlets, and be cautious with holiday decorations as investigators continue reviewing the blaze.
   

• 2 men accused of murder in October shooting in Boston that killed 18-year-old (masslive.com) — An 18-year-old Malden High School senior, G’Kiyah Lewis of Malden, has died from injuries suffered in an October shooting in Boston, and two men are now charged with her murder. Her death has deeply affected Malden High and her family, while Boston community members have been pressing for answers and accountability from police in the weeks since the shooting.
   

• Nancy Marlene Gaudette (nashuatelegraph.com) — A Malden-born resident, Nancy Marlene Gaudette, has passed away at 71, leaving a wide circle of family across Massachusetts and beyond. Services will be held in Nashua on January 3, 2026, with an option to attend via Zoom and suggested memorial donations to the Pan-Mass Challenge.
