Hot Off the T: 5 Things to Do in Boston This Weekend

New Kids on the Block; Frog Pond Garden Party; and an arts festival on the Greenway.

(All events are in walking distance from Orange Line stops on the MBTA.)

  1. PARTICIPATORY ARTS FESTIVAL ON THE GREENWAY: Figment Boston is being held on the Rose Kennedy Greenway (from Rowe's Wharf to the Chinatown Gate) on both Saturday (11 a.m. - 7 p.m.)  and Sunday (11 a.m. - 6 p.m). It features more than 80 artists. Some of the things you can do include help build  a fort, take photos of dancers, rock out to DJ Friar Tuck, and make your own tutu
    Take the Orange Line to State Street Station and walk 10 minutes to Rowe's Wharf or get off at Chinatown and walk 5 minutes 
     
  2. CULTURAL SURVIVAL BAZAAR : Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. at . Cultural Survival is an organization that partners with indigenous peoples to protect their lands, languages and cultures. The bazaar will feature handmade art, crafts, jewelry, and clothing as well as musical performances, craft-making demonstrations and Native American storytelling. 
    Take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk 5 minutes to Copley Square. 
     
  3. FROG POND GARDEN PARTY:  Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn flower arrangement from the experts  at the Frog Pond. Designers will show participants how to create eight different bouquets. They will also be providing floating flower arrangements for the reflecting pool for that day.  Advance reservations are encouraged .
    Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing and walk 5 minutes. 
     
  4. NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK: Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Boston Garden. The local boys are back and tickets were still available as of Friday afternoon.
    Take the Orange Line to North Station. 
     
  5. SEE A CREEPY ART SHOW: Saturday, 9 a.m - 3:30 p.m. The creepy, but witty, black and white drawings of Edward Gorey are on display at the Boston Anthenaeum, 10 1/2 Beacon Street in Boston. Admission is $5 and this Saturday is the last day of the exhibit.
    Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing and walk 10 minutes.
