This year's event is dedicated to Tom Feagley, who passed away in May after spending over 30 years as the executive director of Bread of Life.

"Tom ministered to those in need, expanded Bread of Life food programs beyond Malden to neighboring communities, and worked to get funding to build a permanent home for all of Bread of Life's programs," the organization said in a statement. "That dream is now being realized with the construction of Bread of Life's new home at 54 Eastern Avenue in Malden."

Bread of Life and another local charity Housing Families, will benefit from funds raised at an upcoming benefit concert, which will feature the piano music of Pixie.

The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Sanborn House in Winchester, located at 15 High St.

Tickets are $100 and available online. Additional donations are welcome.

According to its website, Bread of Life provides over 1.5 million pounds of free food per year for economically disadvantaged families, individuals, youth and senior citizens. The organization helps feed people in Malden, Everett and 11 surrounding communities.

Housing Families, meanwhile, provides critical services and resources to help families and individuals stabilize and thrive.
