MALDEN, MA — President Trump's loss in Massachusetts on Tuesday was expected in the perennially deep blue state, but how did he fare among Malden residents this time around?
Support for Trump went up in 2020 compared to 2016, with the president gaining hundreds of votes between the two elections. Results from the 2016 election show Trump received 5,538 votes, compared to 5,904 this year. Hillary Clinton received 15,845 votes in Malden in 2016, while Joe Biden earned 18,417.
Turnout was higher this year, with 24,903 ballots cast versus 22,995 in 2016.
