Malden High School Used As Dump Site Amidst Trash Strike: Report

The strike has affected more than a dozen municipalities since July 1.

MALDEN, MA — The dumpsters at Malden High School have been overflowing with community trash as residents have been dumping there due to the Republic Services trash strike, according to a report from NBC 10 Boston.

According to one city council member, the trash overflow has also resulted in an increase in rat presence. Sen. Ed Markey, a Malden native, has been calling for Republic’s corporate management to bring the strike to an end. The strike just entered its eighth week.
