Malden's Community Development Director Retires After Long Career
Deborah Burke was recognized by city leadership for her dedicated years of service.

MALDEN, MA — Executive Director of the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development Deborah Burke has retired after 40 years working for the city.
Burke was honored with a citation from Mayor Gary Christenson. She worked for five different mayors during her career. Before the OSPCD was founded, Burke worked as the Executive Director of the Malden Redevelopment Authority.
Christenson named the construction of the new police station and city hall buildings as accomplishments Burke had a significant contribution to, as well as improving all of the city’s parks.

“Debbie has truly left her mark on the City of Malden,”Christenson said in a press release. “We wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.”
