Newly-renovated Park Relaunches In Malden
Trafton Park had been under construction for the last two years.
MALDEN, MA — City officials cut the ribbon on the newly-renovated Trafton Park this week.
The park, located on the corner of Granite Street and Jacobs Street, has just undergone a $1.16 million project that included numerous dog park upgrades, replacement of the baseball field's grass and sand, renovation of the tennis and basketball courts, and the installation of two new water fountains. The construction began in 2023.
The project was funded through $1 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds and the remaining $60,000 came from Community Preservation Act funds. The city contracted Tewksbury-based J.J. Phelan and Sons to conduct the work.
