Name of the nominee:
Shelly Ferreira
Name of the person who nominated the hero:
Margaret Ferreira
Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?
Yes
What does the nominee do for work?
Runs 2 nursing homes in Medford, the Courtyard and Glen ridge
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
She goes to work everyday for 10-13 hrs, leaves her husband and 2 children at home to make sure her staff and residents were safe and taken care of when they had the outbreak. Of positive cases (120) she kept going every day to take care of both nursings homes and put her staff and residents number 1 above all. And took the chance of getting the virus, which she still does everyday. In my eyes she's a hero. Between both nursings homes and employee there's about 350.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?
How much she's a hero for caring about 100s of people over her needs. A wonderful and caring director.
