Oak Grove Station Intersection Improvement Project Completed

Malden town officials gathered Wednesday to celebrate improvements at the Washington/Winter/Glenwood intersection near the Oak Grove Station

MALDEN, MA – Malden town officials gathered Wednesday to celebrate improvements at the Washington/Winter/Glenwood intersection near the Oak Grove Train Station.

The improvement project was highlighted as a priority project in Malden and utilized Uber/Lyft money and 2020 Earmark funds to address a number of safety issues for all modes of transportation.

Improvements include the installation of a granite curb, ADA compliant concrete wheelchair ramps and sidewalks, replacement of traffic signals, installation of new pedestrian signals and push button, and new pavement markings at the intersection.

“I could not be more pleased with the result of this improvement,” said Mayor Gary Christenson in a prepared statement. “I’m grateful to the state delegation who worked with us on this project to achieve a much safer intersection.”
