Reading Man Arrested On Theft Charges In Malden
Matthew Whitcomb, 28, was found with stolen items after he was seen entering someone's property, Malden police said.
MALDEN, MA – A Reading man was arrested early Saturday on theft-related charges, Malden police said. Matthew Whitcomb, 28, was stopped around 3 a.m. after he was seen entering someone's property, according to a police statement.
Police said Whitcomb had several items that are believed to be stolen. Officers reached out to several people who are believed to be victims of the thefts.
"Det. Mulcahy's diligence, along with the help of other officers involved, will hopefully lead to a reduction in breaks into motor vehicles in and around the City of Malden," Malden police said in a statement.
