Police Log: Street Fight Ends In An Arrest

This is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log on Wednesday through Thursday at 7 a.m.

  • At 2:39 Wednesday, a caller reported an incident that happened Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.  He was heading inbound on Atlantic near Clifton when a Forgione landscape truck and trailer were going the same direction. The truck and trailer turned to the right and forced the bike rider off the road and the rider flew from the bike. Caller said he thinks the bike is OK, but he is taking it to the shop to confirm. Caller said he was fine. He added that he called the Forgione company and they indicated they had the directional on for the right turn. Caller said if there are damages to his bike, he will call back and file a formal complaint.
  • A Bell School teacher called police Wednesday at 3:12 p.m. to report her car window had been smashed. The teacher told police the park department had mowed near her car and a rock must have shattered the rear passenger window. Officer Clark reported to the school and contacted the park department to confirm they had mowed the area. Park department did confirm.
  • At 3:57 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported they saw two cars pulled over to the right on Legg's Hill Road and the kids took a bong out of the trunk and went into the Conservation area. The caller told police she does not want that kind of activity in the area as there are several families who live there. Police responded to the scene, but found no one.
  • On Wednesday night at 9:01 p.m., several people called police to report a fight in the middle of Sewall Street. A State Police officer was also assaulted in the fight.  Police arrested Steven Paul Jenkins, 47, 11 Baldwin Road, Marblehead, and charged him with assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct.
