100 Years Ago: Maple St. in Deplorable Condition

June 8, 1911: Outlook Seems Very Bright: County Commissioners hear of Deplorable Condition of Maple Street

That there is urgent reason for the repair of Maple St. was shown the county commissioners Wednesday forenoon when they gave a hearing in the aldermanic chamber of city hall on a petition akin that the thoroughfare be repaired from Fairbanks corner to the Southboro line. Not only was there a large number of prominent citizens at the hearing, but the reasons for the perdition were clearly and emphatically set forth, and from all of the indication the commissioners will give a favorable answer to the perdition.
