Aug. 25, 1911: B&M Brakeman Falls From Car: Martin Rendered Unconscious by Fall Caused by Freight Car Crash
James H. Martin, 224 Mechanic St., trainman on the B&M railroad, fell from a car while he was at work Thursday night at 7:15. The accident took place at the Concord St. crossing of the road and the train was switching at the time. Trainman Martin was on the top of the box car which was making a flying switch. Evidently the force of the brake refused to respond to his efforts and the force of contact with another car threw him to the ground.
