100 Years Later: Baptist Church Hosts Memorial Day Ceremonies

Six days a weeks (Mon—Sat) Marlborough Patch will highlight an interesting story from the Marlborough Daily Enterprise published on that date 100 years ago.

May 28, 1911: Patriotic Song and Sermon: Post 43 G.R. and Kindred Societies Listened to Them at Baptist Church

The Baptist church was packed to the doors Sunday morning, the center seats of the auditorium being entirely filled with the guests who had responded to the invitation to meet with them on Memorial Sunday. At 10:30 Company F of which nearly every member was present, headed by Captain Payne, entered the church, preceding the members of John Rawlins Post 43 C.A.R. and although the thinning of the ranks was noticeable, yet a large number were to be present.
