5 Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 22

Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

1. There is a chance of a rain shower or two early today, then the skies should become mostly sunny with a high of 79 degrees, says the National Weather Service.

2. A Marlborough family is desperately looking to find their missing cat Bailey. A $1,000 reward is being offered for the return of this beloved pet, who is described as very friendly and has been missing from 47 Emer Rd. since Friday, Aug. 19. Call 703-626-8272 if you have any information. 

3. The second annual Schartner Farm’s Family Fun Day at the Farm to benefit the new Cancer Pavilion to be built at will be Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees can enjoy hay and pony rides, a magician, pick apples, pumpkins and raspberries and the three-and-a-half acre “farm theme” corn maize. Corn Maize admission prices are ages 12 and up $9; ages 4 to 11 $6, children under age 3 are free. 4. There is a PJ Storytime this evening at the Marlborough Public Libary. Bring the kids over to this drop-in program before the program begins at 6 p.m.

5. The Coffee Loft at 406 Lincoln St. will celebrate their grand opening Friday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 18 with a juried art exhibition. The business is looking for local artists to submit a coffee-themed piece of work to submit during the show. A $200 first prize will be awarded to the winner. (See attached PDF for more details)
