A Suspicious Man, Intoxicated Drivers and Wooden Board Used as Weapon

Area police were busy in the last week as they dealt with a number of issues.

From a suspicious man at playing fields to intoxicated drivers, it was a busy week for area police.

The week started with concern caused by a man reportedly walking his dog at area fields while youth sports were being played. The Hudson man has been investigated by Hudson police and is not deemed a threat, said Marlborough Police Chief Mark Leonard. He encouraged parents to keep an eye out while at the sports fields, however, saying that there have been cases where people who probably should not have been at the fields were present.

A man has been charged with assaulting a woman in the city. He first allegedly attacked her with a letter opener, according to police, and then he struck her with a wooden board. She was not injured in the incident, but he has been charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
