Cheerleaders Raise $1,529

Marlborough High School cheerleaders raised funds for charity recently.

The Marlborough High School varsity cheerleaders recently participated in the 23rd annual Jimmy Fund Walk in Boston, raising $1,529 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Center for Neuro-Oncology to further its clinical research.

“Their donation as well as their time, commitment and volunteerism are both commendable and invaluable to our efforts in finding a cure for this disease,” wrote Dr. Patrick Wen, director of the Center or Neuro-Oncology and a professor at Harvard Medical School. “We are greatly appreciative to them for all they did.”

The cheerleaders met at Dana-Farber and joined 8,700 other walkers for the three-mile trek to Copley Square alongside patients and families, providing support and encouragement along the way.
