Gas Prices Down for Sixth Week in a Row

Hudson gas stations have the cheapest prices in Marlborough area.

AAA Southern New England released data on Monday indicating that gas prices in Massachusetts have continued to decline for the  sixth straight week.

Last week alone prices fell at an average of three cents per gallon, and 26 cents over the six week period, said the automotive services company. 

A survey found the average price in Massachusetts to be $3.689 a gallon, still four cents higher than the national self-serve unleaded average of $3.64 per gallon.

These numbers, according to AAA Southern New England, still fall far short of the 2010 Massachusetts average at this time which was $2.72. 

AAA advises that consumers shop around for the best prices as unleaded prices are currently fluctuating between $3.53 and $3.99 per gallon, depending on where you go.

In Marlborough, the best published prices seems to be at the and stations on Route 20 just off 495 which are advertising right around $3.74 a gallon of unleaded. 

In nearby Hudson, however, the Stop & Shop is currently publishing an unleaded price of $3.61 per gallon. Cumberland Farms in Hudson has the second lowest advertised price of $3.65. 

And if you have a BJ's card (also in Hudson), you'll likely save more than anyone after you've visited the pump. As of Monday evening they were reporting costs of $3.60 per gallon for unleaded and $3.89 for premium.
