MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough's annual Halloween celebration is coming up — if you dare attend.

The annual Horribles Parade — a showcase of locals in their scariest, most creative costumes — will take place Oct. 26, traveling from Main Street fire station through the downtown area. Businesses downtown will participate by offering trick-or-treating starting at 4:30 p.m.

Marlborough will also bring back its now annual scarecrow contest for 2023. Anyone can enter by picking up a wooden scarecrow frame from the Recreation Department, 239 Concord Road, by Oct. 20. The city is offering prizes for the top three most creative entries. The scarecrows will be on display at Union Common during the parade.
