Marlborough Bows Heads in Prayer for Boston

Peace and comfort were among the prayers of two congregations praying for Boston Wednesday night.

Members of two churches gathered Wednesday night to pray for those touched by terrorist attacks that rocked Boston.

"The Bible says there is a time for everything: a time to cry, a time to be happy and a time to pray," said Apostle Roberto Paiva of the Brazilian Mirav Church (Rivers of Living Water Church). "Tonight we should pray for Boston, for the victims and for the United States."

The church shares its building with the New Hope Community Church of the Assemblies of God. The congregations brought together roughly 30 people at separate prayer vigils Wednesday night. The time was set aside to pray for those affected by the bombings at the Boston Marathon which have killed three and injured nearly 200.

"It's far reaching. It's not just those who were at the marathon," said Community Church Pastor Bob Woods. "These are out neighbors no matter where they live in Massachusetts."

Prayer was focused on the comfort and peace of those touched by the bombing and against the fear that it has spread. As the situation continues to set in, this will be an ongoing effort, Woods told the gathered parishioners. The church is always open to those who need to talk, he said.
