Marlborough Opening City Hall To Youth With Summer Job Opportunities

College and high school-age students can participate in two separate, paid jobs programs at City Hall.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough will open City Hall doors to college and high school students this summer, offering two separate paid jobs programs in various municipal departments.

The city's Public Summer Service Internship program is aimed at college students who want to pursue careers in public service, including fields like finance, engineering, public health, environmental, social services, information technology and public safety.

The internship program spans eight weeks starting in June, and involve tasks like issuing permits, answering phones, conducting research and communicating with Marlborough residents. Interns work 30 hours weekly.

For high school students, Marlborough is collaborating with MassHire and the Marlborough Public Schools to offer jobs in areas like information technology support, landscaping and assisting the conservation department. High schoolers work 24 hours per-week from July through August.

Both the college internship and YouthWorks programs pay $15 per hour. Here's how to apply:
