In Marlborough, Snowshoes Are Free To Residents
With a big nor'easter coming to Marlborough this weekend, here's a great way to make use of all the snow.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — With up to 12 inches of snow possible in Marlborough this weekend, there's never been a better time to go outside.
That's because the Marlborough Recreation Department has a new snowshoe rental program happening this winter. Any city resident can reserve a pair of snowshoes and matching poles during weekdays and weekends — and it's free.
Snowshoes provide buoyancy for bipeds traveling across deep snow. Instead of sinking, the shoes distribute your weight across a wider area, allowing you to walk more easily across the white stuff.
