Marlborough Teacher Accused Of 'Inappropriate Contact': Reports

The teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave, and no names have been released.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—A Marlborough teacher has been accused of inappropriate conduct with a student at the Kane Elementary School.

According to a statement from Superintendent Maureen Greulich, the Marlborough administration was made aware of the allegations on or about March 16 of this year.

"We take allegations such as these very seriously, and we will continue to fully cooperate with the local police department and other involved agencies in relation to this matter," she said. "However, due to the confidentiality rights of all parties involved, we are unable at this time to comment further on the specifics of the allegations, the criminal investigation, or any related personnel actions. "

Greulich said as soon as learning of the allegations, administration took immediate steps to secure the safety and well-being of the students. The teacher in question was immediately placed on administrative leave with pay. The teacher remains on leave pending the completion of an investigation into this matter.

This morning, Patch learned of the allegations after residents posted concern of the incident on city message boards.

Fox25 News reports that a parent reached out to the station out of concern that nothing was said to the parents until now.
