Raising Cane's Sets Opening Date For Marlborough Restaurant
The popular chain, which has precious few locations in the Northeast, will open in Marlborough this week.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Raising Cane's, a Louisiana-based restaurant chain famous for its chicken fingers, will open its third Massachusetts restaurant this week. The 141 Boston Post Road (Route 20) location in Marlborough will open Wednesday, according to MetroWest Daily News.
The new restaurant, across the street from the Apex Entertainment Plaza, is about 3,300 square feet and will feature two drive-thru lanes.
Raising Cane's faced legal action from McDonald's, its next-door neighbor. Last year, McDonald's settled a lawsuit it filed against the Marlborough City Council over a special permit granted to Raising Cane's.

The two fast-food restaurants would share a driveway under the permit granted by the city. Lawyers from McDonald's said the arrangement could hurt traffic flow into their restaurant, and asked for five traffic upgrades at the site as a remedy. The two restaurants reached an agreement out of court.
Raising Cane's was founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, LA, and has since expanded to more than 500 locations in the U.S. and a few overseas.
