Slew Of New Stores Opening At Solomon Pond Mall: Grand Opening
A group of restaurants and retailers opening at the Solomon Pond Mall will hold a joint grand opening.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Everyone's going back to the mall.
With plenty of recent news about local malls losing major tenants and big retailers going bankrupt, Marlborough's Solomon Pond is adding a bunch of new stores, according to manager Spinoso Real Estate Group.
On Aug. 31, local officials will welcome several new retailers and eateries to the mall including: clothing store The Daily Thread; Valley Artisans; a For Your Entertainment! pop culture and physical media retailer; the shoe store Instyle Kicks; 2 Designing Women; and streetwear clothing store Track23. Not yet confirmed for the event but opening at the mall are Shoe Supply, J&J Pizza and Let’s Gourmet Sweets.

Some stores are already open, but the Aug. 31 event will serve as a grand opening celebration featuring Marlborough Mayor Arthur Vigeant, state Sen. Jamie Eldridge, state Rep. Danielle Gregoire, Marlborough Economic Development Director Merideth Harris and Marlborough Chamber President Steve Messenio. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
The Solomon Pond Mall opened in the mid-1990s. The mall has seen some exits over the years — including the loss of a Sears anchor store, Newbury Comics and Macy's absorbing the Filene's chain — but remains the largest mall west of Marlborough until the Springfield area.
