Norfolk County Mosquito Control District Announces Aerial Larvicide Application to Floodplains

Due to the rain over the weekend of April 21 and 22, the Charles River flooded its bank and surveillance is showing significant mosquito hatch from the flooding in Millis and Medfield.

The Norfolk County Mosquito Control District anticipate the possibility of an aerial larvicide application. This will be an application targeting the floodplains only, and not the wetlands that we normally treat in the regularly scheduled spring aerial larvicide, which was cancelled this year due to the extremely dry conditions.

Surveillance conducted this past weekend has determined  the need for this application, which will begin on Wednesday, May 2.
