The ninth annual event draws nearly 1,000 each year and is set to take place this year on Sunday, Dec. 7.

The course for the run was recently measured and certified by the USA Track and Field Association as an official 5K, and proceeds will be used to support Medfield residents in need.

To register for the event, residents should visit the Medfield Foundation’s Angel Run table, which will be located on North Street in front of the Montrose School. Representatives will also be on hand to offer training tips, photos from last year’s event and candy canes.

Residents can also register for the event online at medfieldfoundation.org/angelrun. A training schedule has also been established for those interested.

This year will also be the second in a row that Needham Bank has taken a leadership position in being the presenting sponsor, according to an announcement Thursday.

“Our yearly commitment as the presenting sponsor of the Medfield Foundation’s Angel Run is extremely important to the bank,” remarked Jack McGeorge, CEO and Chairman of Needham Bank, in a statement. “We love seeing the turnout each year and are happy the foundation has expanded its race into an official 5K. As a Medfield resident myself, it is always uplifting to see neighbors supporting neighbors in our community.”

Said Medfield Foundation President Evan Weisendfeld, “We are so proud to be teaming up with Needham Bank as the race’s presenting sponsor again this year. Their commitment to the community of Medfield has been tremendous.”

Medfield Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (a severe weather date has been set for Saturday, Sept. 27). The annual event, now in its 35th year, comprises more than 150 booths from local businesses and organizations in Medfield.
