Brothers Marketplace Manager Named 'Food Leader of Tomorrow'

The store manager of the newly-opened Brothers Marketplace in Medfield has been named a 40 Under 40 noteworthy person as a “Food Leader of Tomorrow” by the Griffin Report.

Wander Rezende, who grew up in Framingham and now lives in Mansfield, began his career with Roche Bros. as a dishwasher more than 15 years ago.

After serveral years experience with the company, he helped spawn the idea of Brothers Marketplace. Rezende previously held a position as manager of the Brothers Marketplace in Weston before coming to Medfield.

“I am humbled by this honor, and deeply appreciative of all the support and encouragement from my mentors at Roche Bros., especially Maggie McLaughlin and Aimee Morgida,” Rezende said in a statement. “I’ve been thrilled to open two new stores for the Roche Bros. company and help launch a new brand. At Brothers Marketplace, I look forward to mentoring a new generation of food leaders, giving them an exciting platform to grow and thrive.”

The store, which opened on Wednesday, July 30, offers such local goods as Armeno Coffee of Northborough, produce from Tangerini’s Farm in Millis and other locally-produced items. Brothers also features an in-store diner with a menu offering such items as classic burgers and hot dogs to handcrafted sodas and a full ice cream menu.

Brothers Marketplace is located at 446 Main St. in Medfield, Brothers formerly home to the longtime iconic Lord’s Department Store. The new grocery store is open Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m., and on Sundays from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
