Police Logs: Hurricane Sandy Damage -- Trees and Wires Down, Transformer Fires

7:12 a.m., Causeway Street. Caller reported a brush fire in the woods off her back yard. Fire Department reported that NSTAR was on the scene and extinguished the fire.

9:04 a.m., Harding Street. Tree fell on house at 56 Harding Street.

9:06 a.m., Hartford Street. Pole is leaning. Police said the pole was leaning away from the road and poses no risk at this time. 

12:17 p.m., High Street and South Street. Tree down in road.

12:26 p.m., Brook Street. Two trees down. NSTAR notified.

12:30 p.m., Nebo Street. Transformer fire, wires down. NSTAR and Medfield Fire notified. 

12:38 p.m., Stoneybook Road. Wire down. NSTAR notified.

12:52 p.m., Hartford Street. Tree blocking road. Police were able to move the treet to the side of the road.

1:02 p.m., Causeway Street. Tree down at the intersection of Main and Causeway. 

1:03 p.m., Blacksmith Drive. Tree down in road.

1:28 p.m., Hospital Road. Power out on Hospital Road. NSTAR notified.

1:46 p.m., Ledgetree Road. Caller reported large tree crashed into the roof and it is collapsing. Residents were told to evacuate. 

1:51 p.m., Spring Street. Tree fell on house, residents evacuated. 3:51 p.m. reported a bigger crane was needed to remove the tree.  9:21 p.m. tree crew has finished.

1:54 p.m., Hartford Street. Tree blocking road. 

1:59 p.m., Earl Kerr Road. Tree down.

2:14 p.m., North Street. Police station lost power. NSTAR notified. Restored at 3:13 p.m.

2:20 p.m., Pound Street. Tree down, wires down. NSTAR notified.

2:20 p.m., North Meadows Road and West Street. Traffic light out.

2:25 p.m., Country Way at Saw Mill Lane. Wire down and on fire.

2:28 p.m., Lantern Lane at Tamarack Road. Telephone pole leaning over corner of Lantern Lane at Tamarack Road. 

3:01 p.m., Colonial Road. Pole leaning on Colonial.

3:06 p.m., Elm Street. Tree down in Wheelock school yard.

3:24 p.m., Maplewood Road. Tree fell into wires. NSTAR notified, Medfield Fire en route.

3:27 p.m., Cheney Pond Road. Tree down.

3:34 p.m., Hearthstone Drive. Tree down on the wires. 

3:48 p.m., Winter Street. Wire in a tree on fire. Fire out.

3:49 p.m., Wight Street. Wire down.

4:08 p.m., North Street. Wire down.

4:09 p.m., Harding Street and Longmeadow Road. Pole about to come down. Police said pole is okay for now. NSTAR notified.

4:10 p.m., Mitchell Street. Large tree down on a car and on the wires. Road closed due to low wires. NSTAR and Fire Department notified.

4:16 p.m., West Mill Road. Large tree down in road.

4:30 p.m., Fox Lane. Tree down on wires.

4:35 p.m., North Street. Large tree branch in road.

4:36 p.m., Hilltop Circle. Very large tree came down on power lines. 

4:55 p.m., Pine Street. Transformer fire.

6:03 p.m., Hearthstone Drive. Tree down.

6:05 p.m., Dover Farm Road. Tree down.

11:24 p.m., Pound Street. Power out at Tilden Village.
