Good morning, here are five things to know today:

Medford ward and city committee members will meet April 4 at City Hall to pick new officers, including chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary and treasurer.

Sunny Today, Snow this Weekend?: Clear skies with highs in the upper 40s are expected today, according to the National Weather Service. There's a 40 percent chance of precipitation tomorrow, and it could be snow before 10 a.m. No accumulation is expected.

David R. Harris, senior associate dean at Cornell University's College of Arts and Sciences, has been selected as Tufts' new provost. Harris, a former deputy assistant secretary in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will take over in July.

Medford city councilors are weighing whether the city should start licensing mobil food vendors in the city. For the second time this year, the council's subcommittee on licensing took up discussion on mobil food carts and trucks Tuesday night. City Solicitor Mark Rumley provided the subcommittee, which consists of Paul Camuso, Fred Dello Russo and Richard Caraviello, with copies of other communities' ordinances on food trucks and food carts. But the councilors took no action on the subject, choosing to take some time to review the information Rumley gave them and return to the topic in coming weeks.

The state senate passed a bill last week sponsored by Senator Patricia Jehlen that updates and modernizes the animal control laws in the Commonwealth, some of which date back to the 1800s.
