Deval Patrick has asked Medford Housing Authority Director Robert Covelle to step down, according to a Boston Globe report. Covelle has been under scrutiny since an audit showed the authority regularly issued no-bid contracts, and sometimes had construction firms perform work without any contract at all.
2. Weather: Last night's cold is expected to disappear today, with highs around 60 degrees and sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. There's a 30 percent chance of rain tonight.
