Around the Region: Mob Convo Recorded in Malden, Lewd Act Charge on Red Line in Somerville

A 26-year-old man faces charges after allegedly performing a lewd act on a 21-year-old Cambridge woman riding the Red Line into Davis Square, according to a report from MBTA Transit Police. According to the report, the woman got on the Red Line train at Alewife Station at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday and began to read the Boston Metro newspaper. As the train pulled into Davis Square Station, "the victim noticed what she described as a disgusting smell and something wet on her jacket, and [she] also noticed a male party next to her with his hands down his pants," the report says. Eric Howes, 26, was later arrested and charged with indecent assault and battery. -Chris Orchard
: The is looking to add a new weapon to its arsenal: the Taser. In recent months, the Capital Committee asked department heads to put together a "wish list" and police have requested $10,000 for the purchase of Tasers, according to Selectman Richard Gregorio during an April 10 session. He added that the committee plans to recommend the purchase and have it appear as a warrant article on the May 7 Town Meeting Ballot. Of the 351 communities in Massachusetts, 123 currently have Tasers, according to Gregorio. -Mark Ouellette
Detectives in Wakefield are searching for a suspect in a bank robbery at The Savings Bank that occurred on Monday afternoon. Police said a male suspect on a cell phone entered the North Avenue branch of The Savings Bank around 4 p.m. on Monday, and passed a note to the tellers demanding money. The note said he had a weapon on him, although no weapon was shown. The suspect then left the bank on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. -Sara Jacobi
