Candidates for City Offices Finalized; Soccer Coach Talks Continue

Good morning, here's five things to know today:

See Who's Running for Office: Candidates for elected municipal offices in Medford have been finalized. All incumbents on the school committee and city council will seek re-election along with Mayor Michael McGlynn who will be seeking his 12th consecutive term as mayor. A preliminary election for mayor will be held Sept. 13, the general election will be held Nov. 8.

: Athletic Director Bob Maloney Headmaster Paul Krueger and Superintendent Roy Belson met Tuesday afternoon and again Wednesday morning to discuss the head soccer coach position, but nothing had changed as of Wednesday evening.

"Silver Screenings," an exhibit featuring Ian Dobrowolski’s photographs of local movie theaters will open with a reception tonight at 6:30 at .

Head to Medford Public Library at 7 p.m. tonight for a talk with Keith Stavely and Kathleen Fitzgerald, authors of Northern Hospitality: Cooking by the Book in New England. The authors will talk about regional New England cooking - beyond baked beans, chowder and clam cakes.
