Carroll's Looks to Open Next Week in Medford Square

New Medford Square eatery is near the end of the licensing process, co-owner Maury Carroll says.

The new Carroll's restaurant in Medford Square is looking to open its doors to the public next week, co-owner Maury Carroll said Wednesday.

The restaurant located at 21 Main St. is near the end of the licensing process, with only an inspection from the board of health remaining, Carroll said. That's expected to be done Thursday.

"It's nice, people are excited and we're excited, too," Carroll said.

The Carroll family is opening the restaurant 26 years after the original Carroll's Diner on Main Street closed its doors for good. The new restaurant features 140 seats and a large bar area with 66 inch flat screen TVs and windows overlooking the Mystic River.

The menu will include a wide range of seafood, meats and sandwiches, Carroll said. The bar has 8 taps and will also have bottled beer, wine and cocktails, he said. There will also be a fully-stocked raw bar.
