Cecilia DeFreitas, Longtime Medford Resident, Great Grandmother

Cecilia DeFreitas of Medford died on July 19 at Massachusetts General Hospital.

She was born and raised in Everett and was the daughter of the late William and Carmella Gianci, according to an obituary on the Dello Russo Funeral Home website.

Cecilia was the wife of the late Albert DeFreitas and mother of Daniel DeFreitas and his wife Judith of Chelmsford, Diane MacInnes of Medford and her late husband John, Alan DeFreitas and his wife Rosanne of Reading; grandmother of Tracy Kennedy, John MacInnes, Jennifer Assetta, Matthew and Allison DeFreitas, and Erica Lennon; and great grandmother of Courtney, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Anthony, Jacob, and Emily. She was the sister of the late Mildred, Anthony, Emilio, Nino, Albert and Sandra.

A funeral will be at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. in Medford on Friday, Aug. 2 at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. in Medford, at 9 a.m.

Visiting hours will be Thursday form 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery located at 230 Playstead Road in Medford.
