Good morning, here are five things to know today:

Join Chef Vittorio Ettore for a live chat at 1 p.m. today, and bring some questions to ask him! Ettore is the chef at West Medford's Bistro 5 and the newly-opened A Tavola in Winchester.

2. On the Agenda: The city council is expected to commend a Medford resident who ushered his family out of the house when a fire broke out on Trout Avenue early in the morning on Oct. 9. Councilor Fred Dello Russo has brought forward the resolution to commend, honor and congratulate Alex Pagliaro, who smelled smoke and got his grandfather, other residents and pets out of the home safely.

3. Sunny Today, Rainy Tonight: Clear skies and highs in the mid-to-upper 40s are expected today, but there's an 80 percent chance of heavy rain tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Heavy rain is also expected tomorrow.

Past members of the Medford High School marching band are encouraged to bring their instruments to this year's Thanksgiving Day football game at Hormel Field to join the current band for some music.

In a letter, councilor-elect Rick Caraviello thanked his supporters and fellow candidates and announced he purchased several Thanksgiving turkeys for needy families as a way to show his gratitude.
