Former Springstep Building In Medford Sold For $5.5M

A non-profit has bought the longtime vacant building on George P. Hassett Drive.

MEDFORD, MA – The longtime vacant Springstep building on George P. Hassett Drive has been bought, according to MedfordTop10. A local realtor told the site area non-profit Hearts of Life purchased the building for $5.5 million.

The building, which once hosted arts and cultural events, has been vacant since Springstep's closure in 2012. Its new owner is an organization that helps impoverished children.

Three other empty buildings remain between city hall and I-93, according to MedfordTop10. Plans were announced in early 2017 to turn the building neighboring Medford City Hall into a "boutique" hotel with a rooftop ballroom, conference center and "sky bar."
