Medford School Reopens After Suspected Norovirus Outbreak

The school was shut down for two days due to widespread sickness among students and staff.

MEDFORD, MA — Roberts Elementary School has reopened this week after a large outbreak of suspected Norovirus shut down the building at 35 Court St. this past Thursday and Friday.

Interim Superintendent of Schools Suzanne Galusi and Principal Michelle Crowell announced that the building has been deemed safe by the Medford Board of Health after a thorough cleaning was carried out by a third-party company during the closure. In addition, the leaders revealed that a large number of the more than 130 people who took ill from the epidemic have made significant recovery progress.

A plan is being developed to make up for the two lost school days.
