I-93 Construction Update; Community Fun Tonight

Good morning, here's five things to know today:
State-wide, home sales were 23.5 percent lower in June than last year, according to industry data. It was the slowest June for home sales since 1991. Medford saw 16 home sales in June 2011, compared to 24 last June.
This week's work will replace structures that carry the highway south over Webster Street and the Mystic River. As result, Webster Street will be closed and the Mystic River channel near the highway will be closed to boaters from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The on-ramps to I-93 South from Fellsway West at Exit 34, Roosevelt Circle at Exit 33 and Salem Street at Exit 32 will be closed.

Head to the Congressional Church of West Medford at 1 p.m. tomorrow for Cat Adoption Day, Yard Sale and Craft Fair put on by Pets in Need.
Free food, inflatable games, entertainment and giveaways - including Red Sox tickets - will all be in the mix for this event put on by Redemption Hill Church. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Playstead Park.

Showers Possible: There's a 50 percent chance of rain today and a 70 percent chance of heavy rain tonight, according to the National Weather Service. Things should clear up for the weekend, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s.
