Massachusetts Sales Tax Holiday: What's Charged and What Isn't

A quick look at how the state's sales tax holiday this weekend works.

This weekend's Massachusetts sales tax holiday means many items won't have the 6.25 percent additional charge that's paid to the state, but it doesn't apply to every purchase.

The holiday is only in effect for purchases under $2,500. It doesn't include vehicles, motorized boats, tobacco, meals and utilities.

Purchases over $2,500 will be taxed in full.
