Mayor Proposes Creating Reserve for Fire Department

Mayor Michael McGlynn seeks to bolster the Medford Fire Department by creating a reserve force.

The request was sent to the City Council to create the reservists, who would be appointed and trained by the city, according to a report in the Boston Globe.

Medford Fire Chief Frank Gilberti will attend Tuesday’s council meeting for the discussion on the proposal.
