MEDFORD, MA — The Medford Charter Study Committee announced Wednesday that the Charter Study Survey is open online.

The 12-item survey, which is meant for people who live and work in Medford, solicits opinions about revisions and updates to the city charter. The survey covers topics like term lengths, term limits, ward representation and items relating to the School Committee.

The survey will be open through Dec. 1.

The 11-member Charter Study Committee was established to study the city's current, decades-old charter, gather input from the community and propose recommendations designed to improve and modernize Medford's structure and governance.

"Our current city charter is outdated and doesn't fulfill the needs of our growing, diverse city," Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said. "Public involvement is necessary to help the Charter Study Committee propose changes that will best serve our community's needs, so share your opinions on the charter through this survey or one of the committee's other ways to get involved."
