Medford Increases Notification Scope For Housing Proposals
The city had previously notified residents within 300 feet of a property owner seeking to add housing.

MEDFORD, MA – The Medford City Council on Tuesday voted to expand the scope of residents notified when a property owner petitions to add housing.
Medford previously notified "abutters to abutters" within 300 feet of the property line, per a state requirement, but will now notify property owners within 400 feet of the property line, according to the Medford Transcript.
The decision received unanimous approval from the city council. The ordinance will apply solely to proposals for additional housing units, regardless of the scale. Neighbors will be notified by robocall or text message, the Transcript reported.
