Medford Moves Up Paving Timeline For Winthrop Street

Work is now set to begin in October and be completed by Thanksgiving.

MEDFORD, MA — The City of Medford has moved up the pavement timeline for a portion of the heavily trafficked Winthrop Street, with work now set to begin in October, Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said.

Eversource workers will mill and pave Winthrop Street from Medford High School to the City line and plan to have work completed by Thanksgiving. They will provide regular updates to the City’s Engineering team, who will relay the information to residents.

When completed, this portion of the road will include a designated bike lane, sporadic designated on street parking, new curbing, and new sidewalks along the corridor. At the mayor’s request, the sidewalk work has been extended to Playstead Road.
