Medford PD: Everett Woman Accused Of Hitting Motorcyclist With Car
Lovaine Jeanty, who left the scene, was charged with assault and battery. The victim said he made a gesture toward Jeanty before being hit.

MEDFORD, MA — An Everett woman has been arrested after being accused of intentionally hitting a motorcyclist with her car in Medford on Thursday, the Medford Police Department said.
Lovaine Jeanty, 24, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene with a person injured, leaving the scene of property damage and reckless operation of a motor vehicle, authorities said.
According to police reports, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Medford Emergency Communications received a call about a hit-and-run crash that had occurred in the vicinity of Brooks Elementary School, located at 388 High St.

At the scene, Medford Fire Department and Armstrong Ambulance personnel treated a motorcyclist for minor injuries and transported him to the hospital, police said. The motorcyclist's name was not revealed.
Police said the motorcyclist told officers that a female driver had been following him closely for around a mile, before passing the motorcycle from the left side, crossing the double line.

The motorcyclist said he then made a "gesture of disapproval," according to police.
At that point, the motorcyclist told authorities that the car swerved into him, causing him and the bike to fall. The car then continued to push the motorcycle, with the cyclist still on board, dragging him approximately 15 feet onto the sidewalk, the victim told police.
The car left the scene of the accident, but the Medford PD said a witness was able to take a photo of the car's license plate.
Officers were able to track down the suspect, Jeanty, using the victim's description of the driver and the information provided by the license plate, police said.
The Medford PD said Jeanty was taken into custody at her residence in Everett.
