Medford Police Selling Badges For Autism Awareness Month In April
Officers are selling Autism Awareness Badges for $10. All proceeds will go to the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.

MEDFORD, MA – The Medford Police Department is continuing its autism police patch program once again this year.
Autism awareness badges will be sold throughout the month of April, which is National Autism Awareness Month, for $10.
All proceeds will go to the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. The foundation was started by former Boston College Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie and his wife Alexa in 1998 after their son Doug Jr. was diagnosed with autism at age 3.

The Flutie Foundation provides financial assistance for families caring for a loved one with autism and educates the public about autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Medford community members can pick up badges at the Medford Police Station located at 100 Main St. or have them mailed via US mail.

Medford Police ask that all badges be purchased via Venmo to the account @MPD-Patrolman or by check. Checks can be made payable to “Medford Police Patrolmen’s Assc” and mailed to 100 Main St., Medford, MA 02155, Attn. MPPA.
Medford Police will also host a Sensory-Friendly Inclusion Day on April 16 from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. for tours and touch-a-truck activities. Families with individuals that have ASD and other physical and/or developmental disabilities are welcome to attend.
