MEDFORD, MA — Medford’s Solid Waste Task Force, a nine-member group consisting of local officials, community advocates, and concerned residents, has released a community survey to solicit input, gather data, and learn more about waste removal needs and priorities before negotiating a new vendor contract next year.

The Solid Waste Task Force will use the information gathered from the survey to shape the direction of the city’s next waste hauling contract. Following the close of the survey, the city will convene a public meeting to get more community feedback.

“Our waste removal needs have changed over the course of our current contract and we now have an opportunity to make the City’s waste management system more equitable, sustainable and efficient,” Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said in a statement. “Community involvement is critical to this process and I encourage everyone to fill out our surveys and let us know what your priorities, concerns and suggestions are for the future.”
